Audio/Video & Technician – Installation and Service

Wages based on skill level

Qualifications must include:

1-2 years experience in TV mounting, cable pre-wire, programming, and home theatre installation.
*applicable experience will be considered

Must have knowledge in:

Installation and troubleshooting of Control 4, home theater, audio and video systems
Programming RTI & Control 4 remotes as well as basic troubleshooting for Comcast, Dish Network, DirecTV, & Centurylink
Ability to run/fish/terminate speaker wire, data and service provider cabling (Cat5/6, RG6)

Desired knowledge in:

Possible Duties:

Pre-wire homes under construction for future A/V and home automation projects
Pulling audio/video/phone & data wire throughout residential and commercial buildings
Install TVs, music systems, speakers (floor, wall mounted, and recessed), entry systems, alarm, and computer networks.
Install and program Control 4, and other whole home automation systems including light, shade, and HVAC control systems, video distribution systems, distributed home audio, security camera systems.

You should possess the following:

Excellent communication skills allowing you to provide top notch customer service in a courteous and professional manner
Ambitious, self-motivated, and the ability to learn on the job & work without direct supervision
A thorough understanding of audio/video equipment preferred as well as network set-up and administration
Proficiency with computers; PC’s, Mac’s and office suites
Ability to lift over 50 pounds independently
Strong mathematical skills
Valid Driver’s License

Technician responsibilities include:

Excellent communication skills allowing you to provide top notch customer service in a courteous and professional manner
Ambitious, self-motivated, and the ability to learn on the job & work without direct supervision
Ability to lift over 50 pounds independently
Strong mathematical skills
Must be able to read a general construction blueprint and understand a wiring diagram.
Must have ALL tools required for basic low volt rough and trim work. (A required tool list will be provided)
Working knowledge of RG6, CAT5E, CAT6, 22/4 (security wire), and speaker wire of assorted gauges.
General knowledge of how install in-ceiling/in-wall speakers and in-wall volume controls
Some familiarity with installing & programming security systems.
Knowledge of central vacuum systems and how to connect them is a plus.
You MUST have a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record.
It will be your responsibility to schedule vehicle maintenance with office staff and we expect you to maintain a well organized and clean vehicle.
Basic troubleshooting ability and willingness to learn is required. We want you to succeed and grow with Terracom!
